How to Increase the Swap Size on OpenBSD
To increase the size of the swap on my OpenBSD Virtual Private Server with the help of a swap file, I used the following commands:
# create file and set permissions
doas dd if=/dev/zero of=/home/swapfile bs=1m count=512
doas chmod 600 /home/swapfile
# activate swap (swapon)
doas swapctl -a /home/swapfile
# make permanent
echo '/home/swapfile none swap sw' | doas tee -a /etc/fstab
I used the /home partition for the swap file, since it was the one with the most free disk space on my tiny VPS.

About This VPS
Welcome to Puffy, the name of this blog, which is hosted on a VPS that shall be described in this post. Puffy is of course also the name of the mascot, a blowfish, of the absolutely amazing OpenBSD project.
TL;DR
The VPS provider is TierHive, the VPS has 1 vCPU with 512 384 MB of RAM and 6GB of NVME disk space.
This configuration costs about $5.64 $4.56 per year.
The operating system is OpenBSD, because for quite some time, I was curious about httpd(8),
which is one of the main reasons this VPS exists.
